Bakers Dozen Tattoo
I recently had the opportunity to photograph Bakers Dozen Tattoo, capturing the shop, the artists, and the quiet intensity that happens behind the scenes while they work. Tattoo shops have such a distinct atmosphere, and this session was focused on documenting more than the finished artwork. It was about capturing the process, the space, and the people who bring each piece to life.
Throughout the session, I photographed the artists in motion, setting up, working with clients, preparing tools, and focusing on the details that make tattooing such a personal and intentional art form. These kinds of images help tell the story of a creative business in a way that feels authentic, showing not only what they do, but how much care and concentration goes into the work.
The shop itself was also an important part of the story. From the workstations and artwork to the lighting, textures, and everyday details of the space, the images were created to reflect the character and energy of Bakers Dozen Tattoo. For creative businesses, environmental photography can be especially valuable because it gives clients a better sense of the experience before they ever walk through the door.
This session reflects one of my favorite parts of photography: documenting people and businesses in motion. There is something powerful about capturing the small, unscripted moments that show the skill, focus, and personality behind a brand. For Bakers Dozen Tattoo, the final gallery provides a mix of shop imagery, artist-focused photos, candid working moments, and detail shots that can be used for social media, website content, marketing, and brand storytelling.
Marble & Bone Studio is built around creating imagery with atmosphere, texture, and intention. Sessions like this are a reminder that strong visual storytelling is not just about polished final images. It is about helping people see the care, creativity, and energy behind the work.
